Receptionist / Retail Cashier Role for Kinship Co-Working 

Job brief

We are seeking to hire a hybrid Receptionist / Retail Cashier Role to manage our front desk, and accept credit card payments from customers.

 

You’ll be the first point of contact for our members and customers. You’ll welcome guests, answer questions and give tours. As a receptionist, you’ll assist new members with questions about their plan options, and facilitate the signing of membership agreements. You’ll offer administrative support by answering phone calls and emails, taking messages, and helping to manage meeting room scheduling.  As a cashier, you’ll check out customers who make purchases using our online payment system and help with any wrapping or bagging of goods. 

 

To be successful in this role, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should also be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role may require working in shifts, so flexibility is a plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome members and visitors as soon as they arrive

  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, facilitate signing of membership agreements)

  • Keep updated records of supply inventory and expenses 

  • Assist members in booking meeting rooms

  • Offer short tours of the coworking space and answer questions

  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls and emails

  • Receive and sort mail

  • Maintain cleanliness of the space

  • Take payment for goods via our online payment system

  • Assist in wrapping and bagging goods purchased

  • Open/close the space in the morning or evening, respectively

  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email

 

Requirements and skills

  • Experience in customer service role(s)

  • Experience handling transactions

  • Proficiency in Google’s Gmail and Calendar suite

  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)

  • Professional attitude

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

  • Customer service attitude

  • Trustworthy, responsible, and kind
